Hi! I’m Renee, and I’m a life-long adventurer, both on the page and off. From a young age, I learned to travel the world for free, my library card as my passport. Since then, the world has become both my library and my muse. Just as reading inspires me to travel, travel inspires me to write. I look forward to sharing reading recommendations, my recent written works, and my experiences travelling, and invite you to do the same!
I received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Arizona and am currently pursuing my BA in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. I’ve written dozens of short stories, both fiction and creative non-fiction, some of which are available on this site, and I am currently writing my first novel.
I’ve always been drawn to stories of travel and of self-discovery; I find you learn a lot about yourself when you’re outside your comfort zone, and strongly believe travel opens up your mind and your spirit to new possibilities. I’ve explored 26 U.S. states, 18 National Parks, and 24 foreign countries, and I love to share my experiences through travel recommendations as well as the writing they inspire. I also love to share reading recommendations and hear others’ perspectives; in January 2020 I started a virtual book club with a group of girlfriends and we still meet monthly via Zoom.
I live in Scottsdale, Arizona with my partner and our rescue dogs, and can be found hiking, biking, running, paddle boarding, and enjoying the great outdoors. I’m also an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. That is, when I’m not reading, writing, or wandering.
